The Wisdom of Tears

This poem is a quiet act of courage, a meditation on vulnerability, masculinity, and the quiet struggle of feeling deeply in a world that tells you not to. It speaks to the man who weeps in silence, who carries heartbreak like a secret wound, and who’s been taught that emotion is weakness. With a voice both gentle and resolute, the poem challenges that narrative, offering empathy where society offers shame.

Through elegant verse and introspective rhythm, it confronts the pain of holding back, the exhaustion of pretending to be unbreakable, and the longing to simply be allowed to hurt. It doesn’t ask the reader to move on, it invites him to move through. This is not just a reflection on sorrow, but a reclamation of emotional honesty. A reminder that strength is not the absence of tears, but the courage to let them fall.

O you, the man with a tormented heart
Restrain yourself, your cure is to depart
Your tears have bled your eyes completely dry
So borrow tears from one whose wells still cry
But who would lend an eye to mourn through you
Have you ever seen an eye for grief on loan too?

How long will you revisit wounds and ache
As if your pain were fed with sorrow’s lake
There’s no more room in verses left to write
They overflow with longing every night

You thought that love could heal what life betrayed
But love, my friend, leads many to the grave
So leave remembrance, don’t renew the flame
No sorry words can soothe a heart in shame

Now walk more gently, your heart is worn thin
It cannot bear more weight of loss or sin
Lift up your hands to Heaven, speak and say
O Lord, I’ve tired, please guide my heart today

And if the world should mock your softened eyes
Let it, for even storms must cleanse the skies
There’s no disgrace in breaking where it hurts
The soil must split before the seed asserts

Not all who taste of love find peace inside
Some are born just to endure love’s tide
So parting from the one who made you shed a tear
Is not defeat, it is where the brave find peace
